Management
Gregory J. Forrest, Nicholas B. Binkley and Jeffrey J. Brown founded FBB in 1993. Prior to the formation of FBB, Messrs. Forrest, Binkley and Brown managed Security Pacific Venture Capital Group (SPVC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Security Pacific Corporation, a top 10 U.S. Bank. In 1992, BankAmerica Corporation acquired Security Pacific and SPVC became BankAmerica Venture Capital. Messrs. Forrest, Binkley and Brown assumed management of BankAmerica Venture Capital until they left to form FBB in 1993.
From 1973 to 1992, under the investment leadership of Mr. Forrest, SPVC increased its assets under management from $6 million to $704 million. Over this 19-year period, SPVC invested in 202 companies and generated an annual internal rate of return in excess of 30%. As Vice Chairman and a member of the Board of Directors of Security Pacific and BankAmerica Corporation, Mr. Binkley oversaw all venture investing for the parent organization and worked closely with Mr. Forrest to build one of the leading bank holding company venture groups.
Messrs. Forrest and Binkley have been business colleagues working closely since 1983 and were joined by Mr. Brown in 1987. Messrs. Forrest, Binkley and Brown are assisted by two investment professionals who have significant expertise in due diligence investigation, and who have operating, financial and consulting backgrounds. The FBB team has over 65 years of combined investment experience in the venture capital industry.
